From This to That

I bought this pot of beautiful bi-color African Violet in August last year.    It seems the AV doesn't like me, it changes back to mono-color at the re-bloom.

It still got some white patches at the first re-bloom!

Then the white patches have gone and it's completely mono-color! It looks entirely different from the AV I have bought. LOL

Hot Pot Buffet @ Hansang Korean Restaurant, the Grandstand

Hansang, a chain restaurant from Korea, is situated just next to the Giant Supermarket at the Grandstand which formerly known as the Turf City. The hotpot lunch buffet on weekends is $19.90++.

There are both cooked and raw food for the hot pot buffet.  Honestly, both sections have  only a few variety of choices. For the cooked food, there are bokeumbap (fried rice) , japchae (fried noodle), 2 types of cooked beef, fried chicken, 2 types of pajeons (pancakes) and 3 types of kimbap (sushi) , plus plain rice and that's all!
The cooked beef

japchae and fried chicken

pajeons

The food we consumed... told DH to skip the pajeons and the japchae.  Both the pajeons and japchae taste oily and bland for me, the pajeons are floury as well :(

For the hot pot,  the soup base can either be the seaweed or kimchi. We chose the kimchi one.

Neither has many choices for the hot pot section, these 2 photos showed them all. (Only instant noodle and raw eggs were out of photos) ...No tofu nor dumplings as we expected, but these 2 items are very common in  the Korean hot pot.

The food we consumed

It doesn't look like a Korean hot pot, does it?

We added in more kimchi  and seasonings into the soup and ...

it looked much better then :)

We cooked the instant noodle as well

The fruit was watermelon, no other choices

A very special label sticked on the dining table.  It says,'20% of the FOOD COST will be chargeable to any wastage'... so will it be market price? Puzzled!

For the service, it still has room for improvement.  We found that the staff would not provide additional plates even we asked for.  The staff told us to USE THE PLATES ON THE DINING TABLE.  Do pay attention that there are no plates on the catering table and there are only 1 large plate, 1 saucer and a small bowl for each diner on the dining table and they are all for the raw food, the cooked food and the watermelon.  So, are they kidding me?  What service have they provided ? And they still have the 10% service charges!  Puzzled again!
