          Time flies, the Santa Claus has just climbed out of the chimney and ridden away on his sledge, then the Chinese Dragon is knocking the door. Tomorrow is the first day of  the Dragon year.  Wish everyone a happy Lunar New Year!

Porridge with Chicken and Fresh Abalones 鲍鱼鸡粥

          We have found live abalones in the supermarket, however, we didn't buy any  as it hasn't stated the country of origin.  In the interest of hygiene and safety, we bought some fresh abalones from New Zealand, though the latter cost more.

Remove the shell and digestive organs then wash to clean

         Cook the plain porridge ( 白粥 ) first, then add in marinated chicken meat (marinated with salt, soy sauce, ginger juice and cooking wine), finally add in the fresh abalones.Seasoned. Remember DON'T over-cook the abalones, or they will be very chewy!  Add in century-eggs if you like.

Shopping with the sons

          As the sons have invited their girl friends and buddies to our house during the lunar new year,  they went to supermarket with the hubby and me today.  After getting what they needed, they then wandered around with my ipad.  Back to home, I found these in my ipad photo file.  The photos taken are much better than that using the handphone.
