K Cook Korean BBQ Buffet @ Orchard Central

         We had the Sunday lunch buffet there and went out very disappointed.  It's the first time I have my lunch in a restaurant with the table that SMALL... too small for me to put even a plate!

The price for weekend lunch buffet is $24.90++/pax

    

          The gas barbacue grill

  

          The grill is simply seated across 2 tables, so some patrons have to stand all the way to grill their food.  Poor ventilation and they have to open the door, which make it no difference between air-con room and open-air area. Maybe open-air dining area would be better.

          The tables are small already, however, the situation is deteriorated as the grill occupied a majority of space.  See my plate was hanged over the edge of the table.  DH's drink was at the left! 

          Shifted the camera towards the right, and I can show you the tight space.  The tall stainless steel container for tongs and scissors, the stainless steel bowl was provided for burnt residues and the further end was then the elder's plate.  The heat, the squeezy and messy space really ruined the ambiance!

          DH's side was no much better than mine.  The plate was also hanging over and almost going to the end of the table.

          Another photo showing the plate hanging over the table. I have sneaked a peek at the neighboring tables.  Their tables were also very small, but at least they could put their plates.  How come our tables were particularly smaller!  It seems the restaurant house furniture of different sizes and temporary furnished.

          Where the food is considered, I better don't comment.  Let you see and you'll know!

          Zoom in! Can you see anything wrong with the meat?  ANSWER:  They don't know how to slice the meat.  The meat should be sliced across the grain, not with the grain.  The mistakes in the kitchen will make the meat very dry, tough and chewy!

 

 

          I have no idea why this restaurant is rated 5 stars in the reviews, though I don't trust any reviews in the web.  If you ask me to rate, I'm so sorry to say that 1 star is more than enough.  Since there are so many Korean BBQ restaurants in the city, I have no reason to be back.
