Baek Doo San @ Jurong Point Shopping Centre

Today we went to Jurong Point for lunch and by the way to buy some Chinese herbs for soup. Seeing the long queue outside the Indian restaurant, we changed our mind and went directly into the next restaurant for Korean cuisine. It's our very first try on it.  As Jurong Point is a typically crowded shopping mall and it is surprising for us to find that there were four tables inclusive. We can therefore guess that the food may not be good enough or the price is unreasonably charged.

Kimchi

Pumpkin Soup

Namul, bean sprouts and cucumber with vinegar and sesame oil

Jeon, pancakes

BBQ Saba Fish Set
It comes with Saba fish, miso soup, rice and chilli sauce and a drink. The frozen half lengthwise cut saba is pan-fried . For the miso soup, you can see very clearly that it's PURELY watery soup without any seaweed nor tofu cubes o.O  The taste is so-so, no great surprise.

Beef Soup Set
I prefer this beef soup, kimchi soup base + beef, bean sprouts, certain variety of mushrooms and green bean vermicelli 粉丝.  The taste is not bad.

Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup comes without rice because it  is said that there is glutinous rice in the chicken. Oops...ONE spoonful ! So we needed to add 2 more rice. For the taste... don't let the ginseng cheat you, it tastes more MSG than ginseng.

The soup comes with this white pepper and sesame

It's much to be desired  where the service is concerned.   The waitress recommended those 'high price' dish to us, like the 20+ BBQ beef set for TWO slices of beef, LOL or 140+ ?? for BBQ combo set  etc.  We thought she was looking for the one to chop.  When we refused to order those dish, her manner changed immediately.  She even missed our additional rice (for the ginseng chicken), no iced water served...even we reminded her several times but she just neglected  :((

We won't be the repeat customer, very obviously!
